Cardiac technology is the vast field that consists of different aspects such as diagnostic study in Interventional Cardiology, Cardiac surgeries, Medicine, Pre and Post surgery procedures, Patient rehabilitation and education, Accidents & Trauma care, Ambulatory Service, First Aid etc. The potential for growth and advancement in the field of Cardiac technology is excellent, and as a professional, you can make a difference in the lives of those suffering from heart and vascular problems .
The program typically covers topics such as anatomy and physiology, cardiac disease management, pharmacology, patient care procedures, healthcare administration , Instrumentation and Biophysics .
These professionals work in healthcare settings and assist physicians and other medical staff in caring for patients with heart conditions. They may also perform diagnostic tests, monitor patients, and assist with medical procedures related to heart health.

Course Details
- The B.Sc. courses are affiliated with the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R University. The course duration is 3 years and 1 year internship.
- The course shall commence from 1st August of the academic year
- The medium of instructions is English.
- Both Female & Male Candidates will be selected for the course.
- Students should attend theory and practical classes.
- Annual theory and practical examinations will be conducted at the end of each year by the Tamil Nadu Dr. M. G. R. Medical University.
- Students should have a minimum of 90% attendance in the theory and 100% in the practical to be eligible to appear for the annual examination.
- After successful completion of the course a Bachelor of Science degree is awarded by the Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University.

They mainly assist in physician during interventional procedures and Non-Invasive Diagnostic test for Cardiac Disease condition and Treatment. Cardiac technologists prepare patients for open-heart surgery, Interventional Procedures like CAG, PCI, PTCA, PPI, EP study, Pediatric Intervention. Technologists monitor patients during these procedures. Cardiac technologists handle the equipment related to heart and will provide external support for heart during surgeries.

- Assessing ECHO , TEE , Contrast
- Operating Machine and handling equipment’s during CAG, PTCA, Device closure, TAVI etc .
